The Minister for Primary Industries, Nathan Guy, has announced that the GIA Deed has been approved by Cabinet.

The Deed is the foundation document of the GIA. It outlines the principles for the partnership and the commitments that each signatory makes to:

• engage in the wider biosecurity system

• co-invest in and make joint decisions about biosecurity readiness and response activities.

Industry organisations may sign the Deed once they have demonstrated to the Minister of Primary Industries that they meet the eligibility requirements.
